Welcome to R's Loft

Hi, and welcome to R's Loft. My name is Rachel. I'm 18 years old and this is my first blog. (If you want to know more about me, check out my about page.)

I've thought about starting a blog for a long time. I often thought it would be great fun to have a place to express myself, share my interests, and make tutorials and how to's. Then I actually looked into starting a blog. Because I'm a planner, I must read several books and articles before actually doing something. I'm weird that way. The more I read, the harder it seemed. There was all this talk of niche blogging, but I didn't want to write on only one subject. I wanted to write on a variety of topics that I enjoy. Choosing a name alone took me weeks.

But then I realized that this was my blog. I can do what I want. I don't have to do what other people suggest. It's a suggestion, which means it's optional. Yes, I'd like to have an audience some day, but I'm gonna do it my way.

So, my blog will be about a lot of things. Things I like, of course. I know I am not an expert, but I want to share what I do know with you. There will probably be a lot about writing, jewelry, clothing, and DIY. I may also throw other odds and ends in there.

I plan on posting twice a week, hopefully on Monday and Thursday. Things may change a bit as I figure out what I want to do. I'll try to let you know if I decide to do any major changes.

I'm finishing this post with a quote I keep above my desk. "The expert in anything was once a beginner"-Helen Hayes. Totally true.

  1. Regarding your ending quote, R L Evans said, "Don't let life discourage you; everyone who got where is he had to begin where he was." I wish you well and that you're brain is full of blog ideas. Keep a note pad by your bed, so when you wake up with a fantastic idea, you can write yourself a reminder and actually, then, get some sleep.
