The Sunshine Blogger Tag

Here in Maryland, it's sunny again after over a week of cloudy skies and rain. Except today, of course. Summer is about a week away and it's heating up.

So, this is a great time for The Sunshine Blogger Tag. I was tagged in this by Melissa Gravitis from Quill Pen Writer. Thanks, Melissa! It's a pretty easy tag.

Let's get started with the questions.

#1 - Did anything 'spark' your passion (writing, reading, art, etc.) or did it come on gradually?

I have several passions, and most of them I've been doing as long as I can remember. I think one that really sparked in me was music. My older cousin played the violin and she made me want to learn too. I had to wait until I was six, however, before I could start.

#2 - If a library was on fire and you could only save three of its books, which three would you choose?

Argg, can't I just have a Tardis and put them all inside? I would probably pick The Lord of the Rings (because that's actually one book), Alice in Wonderland, and The Lightning Thief.

#3 - Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or another drink?

Coffee if I can have it in a frappuccino, hot chocolate all other times. Especially the really rich kind, even if I can't drink a lot of it. I'm lactose intolerant and that stuff has so much milk and cream in it.

#4 - One of your characters can come alive for a day. Who do you want it to be?

Hana Johnson from my novel The Girl with the Sword. She is one of my all time favorite characters. Plus, she's a superhero and I would love to see her powers in action.

#5 - How many siblings do you have?

Five, two sisters, three brothers. I'm the oldest of six. It can be loud around my house, but I wouldn't want it any other way.

#6 - Do you have a motto? (If you do, share it, if you don't, make one up!)

Hmm, a motto. I've never had one before. How about: Don't Give Up. That's something I feel very strongly about.

#7 - What's the strangest dream you've ever had?

The strangest dream I've ever had. The one that sticks most vividly with me is one I dreamed years ago. It was that a giant orange planet had just appeared in our sky. It was so big you could see it rising above the surface of our planet like it was only a few miles from Earth. Everyone was panicking and I think I had to do something.

One of my favorite dreams of all time, if you were wondering, is one where I dreamed I found the Doctor and the Tardis. Then he invited me to travel with him and I was just about to go when I woke up.

#8 - Have you ever traveled out of your country, and if yes, where to?

I have and I went to France for three weeks about ten years ago. My dad was building a gypsy wagon for some clients and we all got to come along and go on vacation. That trip is one of my best memories, even though I got stuck on an elevator at a museum with my baby brother and didn't know what to do. In the end, I just stayed on the car until it got back to the floor with my family. I was terrified.

#9 - If you wished on a shooting star, what would you wish for?

I would wish that I always found happiness in whatever I did in life. It's something I strive for every day. Either that or I find the Doctor and get to travel with him.

#10 - Would you rather go swimming in Antarctica or camping in the Sahara Desert?

I'd rather relax on a beach in Hawaii and learn to surf. However, since that's not an option, I think I'd take swimming in Antarctica, since I would be wearing a dry suit and be nice and cozy. The Sahara sounds too hot for me.

#11 - How did you come up with your blog's name?

When I decided I was actually going to do this blog thing, I knew finding the right name would be important. I chose R's Loft because my name is Rachel and I wanted this to be a sort of creative loft where you can find things from writing to fashion. You should see the picture I have in my head of what my blog would look like if it was a real loft.

I still don't know a lot of other bloggers, and I know a lot of people have done this one, so if you want to do it, go ahead. Here are my questions.
