If You Like... Part 2 (TV Show/Book Recs)

If You Like... Part 2

Do you like reading books that give you the same vibes as your favorite TV shows? Then you're in luck. Today I'm back with another If You Like installment (here's part one). Basically, I have several book recommendations based around a few shows I like. So if you like any of these shows, check out these books!

If you like... Julie and the Phantoms

Instant Karma by Marissa Meyer

There might not be cute ghost boys, but there are magic powers, a fun romance, and records involved.

Dearest Josephine by Caroline George

Speaking of healing from trauma and falling for someone you can't have (and might not even be real), there's this book. It's not as lighthearted as JatP, but touches on similar themes.

If you like... Trollhunters

The Ruins of Gorlan by John Flannagan

If you like Trollhunters big battles, combat, and fun characters, you'll like the whole Ranger's Apprentice series. I think Halt and Blinky would be great friends if they met, and Jim and Will would love to compare notes.

The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

The world of magic and mortals also combines in the Percy Jackson books. While Trollhunters has, you know, trolls, these books have Greek gods.

If you like... The Crown

American Royals by Katharine McGee

If you want The Crown with all of the drama and none of the depth, try this book. It's very YA compared to The Crown, but it has very similar vibes.

The Last Grand Duchess by Bryn Turnbull

Alternately, you can try this book documenting the downfall of the Russian royal family from the perspective of Olga Romanov. It's a different look at familiar history, much like The Crown.

If you like... Arcane

Mortal Engines by Philip Reeve

Love the gritty steampunk aesthetic? Mortal Engines taps into that, along with class divide and forbidden romance.

The Nameless City by Faith Erin Hicks

If you like the street rat, well-raised pairing, this graphic novel is perfect for you. It also has the city as a major part of the story, much like Piltover.

What do you think of these pairings? Do you have any suggestions based on these shows? Tell me in the comments!
