The Fowl Twins
by Eoin Colfer

Blurb: Criminal genius runs in the family...
Myles and Beckett are eleven-year-old twins, but the two boys are wildly different. Beckett is blonde, messy and sulks whenever he has to wear clothes. Myles is fanatically neat, he has an IQ of 170, and he wears a fresh suit every day like his older brother, Artemis Fowl.

Perhaps you have heard of the Fowl family and their adventures?

This Fowl adventure is filled with the most unusual of individuals: an immortal duke, a miniature troll, a nunterrogator and a Police Specialist that's 42% elf. And of course, the Fowl twins - one a certified genius with a criminal leaning, and the other possessing an unusual talent that has not been fully explored... yet!

Here begins the second documented cycle of Fowl Adventures.

Cover Review: This cover looks similar to the Artemis Fowl books, but more colorful and fun, like the story inside. I like how it shows the twins and gives me an idea already of their personalities.

Plot: The whole book was very high paced, from start to finish. We traveled around the world with the twins and had lots of escapades and high jinks. However, it never felt too busy or like you couldn't keep up. It was just a fun adventure the whole time, even as the stakes got higher towards the end. It made me laugh a lot too.

Characters: Our two main characters are Miles and Beckett Fowl. Miles is smart like Artemis, while Beckett is completely different from either of them (and my favorite character). But I loved both of them and the devotion they had to each other. I can't wait to see what they get up to in book two.

Other characters include Lazuli, a pixel hybrid, Sister Jerominia, a not so virtuous nun, and Lord Bleedham-Drye, a hilarious yet insane villain. Lazuli was cool, if not as developed at Holly Short (although there's time for that). Lord Bleedham-Drye was my favorite other character however. He was so villainous, and yet left nice reviews on the villain shopping site.

World: We don't get to see pretty much any of the fairy world in this book, only our world. But they did introduce all these fun companies that help evil masterminds and such which I adored. And we got to go to places like Amsterdam and England, so it was pretty fun.

Rating: 5 stars
