Picking the Right Jewelry for You
Every girl loves jewelry. And look good. Jewelry can really make or break an outfit. So how do you decided what looks good on you?
Cool or Warm?
This is the first thing you need to decide your jewelry. It is also excellent for clothing and makeup. When you wear the right colors, you look awesome, and who doesn't want that? Figuring out whether you are cool or warm is easy. Just search the internet for cool or warm skin quiz and take one of the quizzes. Which one you are will help you pick jewelry in the future.
Cool
Cool skin tones have pink, peach, or blueish undertones. Celebrities like this are Anne Hathaway, Sandra Bullock, Shania Twain. If you're a cool person, silver and platinum are the best metals for you. Bright jewel tones are your best colors.
Warm
Warm skin tones have yellow, peach, golden, or olive undertones. Celebrities with this skin tone are Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz, and Kate Hudson. If you're a warm person, go for the gold in your jewelry. Earth tones are your friends.
What's Your Style?
This is the second thing to consider when choosing jewelry. It should match your style of dress, most of the time. I suggest this post for a good overview of the types of styles- http://www.enkivillage.com/types-of-fashion-styles.html. And here's a pretty good style quiz- http://www.thechicfashionista.com/fashion-style-quiz.html#Quiz. Once you've figured that out, it's easy.
Let's take a classic person like my mom. She like to wear simple but elegant jewelry that looks very nice on her. Or my sister, who is more edgy. She likes layers and funky pieces she makes herself. I like a combination of things. Once you've figured out what your style of jewelry is, it helps a lot.
Choosing Jewelry
Now we finally get to the fun part, picking out jewelry. When you shop for things, keep in mind your style and skin tone. However, these are only guidelines. You can be more than one thing. If you want to wear something different, go ahead.
If you can, try on the jewelry before you buy it, or carefully consider it. Will you actually wear it, or does it just look cool? Do you like it? Will it match your wardrobe? Is there at least two outfits you can wear it with? This last one is optional if you're looking for a certain piece for a certain outfit.
Keep in mind that these are guidelines, not absolutes. It you like this post, also check out my post on jewelry essentials- http://rs-loft.blogspot.com/2016/02/8-jewelry-essentials.html. Have fun finding your best jewelry.
