The Fandom Tag!

The Fandom Tag!

You all know I'm part of far too many fandoms and I'm okay with that. Movie Critic tagged me in this last month, and since I'm having a light blogging month, it seemed like the perfect time to do it. So let's dive right in.

The Rules

-Include the graphic somewhere in your post
-Answer the questions
-And tag two fellow fan people to answer them too!

The Questions

1. What's the first fandom you remember becoming a part of?

I loved a lot of books and movies as a kid, but I think the first real fandom I become a part of is the MCU. At that point I was old enough to realize "hey, there are other people who love these movies and want to talk about them all the time", like me.

2. What's the newest fandom you've come to enjoy?

I think I'm going to have to copy Movie Critic's answer and say Julie and the Phantoms. I don't know why I love this show so much (besides all the obvious reasons). But it spoke to people I really hope it gets a season two.

3. What's the fandom guaranteed to give you feels?

A Series of Unfortunate Events. It's just so heartbreaking to watch, and yet so hopeful at the same time. It always makes me hurt, especially the show.

4. What's a guilty pleasure fandom of yours?

James Bond. I know his character isn't the greatest man (especially around women), but honestly, the movies are pretty good and well done spy thrillers. I especially enjoy Daniel Craig's version, which I feel brings a lot more depth to the character.

5. What's the weirdest fandom you've heard of/are a part of?

DuckTales. I know, you probably wouldn't have guessed it. It's such a fun show, though, with lots of hijinks and adventures. Plus the remake of the show has David Tennent as Scrooge McDuck, which is a huge bonus.

6. Favorite popular/widely-known fandom?

Disney. I'm a Disney girl through and through. I was raised on the renaissance films and from there moved on to consume a lot of their most popular movies.

7. Favorite bookish fandom?

Would anyone be surprised if I said Lord of the Rings? I think it's really cool all the people out there who have read things like the Silmarillion and made fan art and memes and cool posts about lesser known stuff.

8. What do you consider your "homebase", the fandom you can always come back to?

I have several, but one that comes to mind today is Doctor Who. It's such a comfort show for me (except for the times it rips my heart out and throws it into the time vortex). Both old and new Who have many great things about them.

This amazing move is called the Drunk Giraffe

9. What's a fandom you know all about. . . but aren't actually into?

Harry Potter. I've actually never read the books or watched the movies *insert gasps of horror here*. I probably will one day, but I'm not sure how much I'll get out of it since I know almost all the major events and character deaths.

10. Which fandom has the best characters?

All of them? That's why we like fandoms. But if I have to pick one, I'd say Studio Ghibli. Their characters are so iconic and well defined. Plus they almost always have great arcs.

11. Name your all time favorite ship.

I don't know if it's my all time favorite, but I really love Hiccup and Astrid from How to Train Your Dragon. I love how comfortable they are around each other and how much they trust each other. Their scenes together are *chefs kiss*.

One of my absolute favorite episodes from Race to the Edge

12. What's a fandom you're curious about joining?

BBC's Robin Hood show. I've heard that it's good and I adore Robin Hood, so it's on the (rather long) list of shows to watch. If I actually worked on watching new stuff instead of rewatching comfort shows, it might help.

I tag. . .

Do you have a favorite fandom? What's the weirdest fandom you know of? Tell me in the comments.

  2. Hey, you did it! Excellent answers!

A Series of Unfortunate Events is so heartbreaking! There are so many emotions when watching it. Right now I'm rereading the books and can't wait to watch it again once I'm done!

I love HtTYD so I should watch Race to the Edge.

Ghibli characters are incredible! I love them all but Chihiro is probably my favorite because I love her growth.

You totally should watch the BBC Robin Hood! The characters are amazing. It was my all time favorite show for years before Julie and the Phantoms passed it.
