10 Signs You Might Be a Bookworm

10 Signs You Might Be a Bookworm

Bookworm: noun.: A person devoted to books and reading. Does that sound like you? Can't tell? Don't worry, that's what today's post is all about. It will cover ten signs that you might be a bookworm. If one or more applies to you, you fall under the bookworm banner.

1. You always have reading material

If you don't have a book in your bag, there's one in the car or tucked up your shirt, possibly. Or at least an e-book or audio book on your phone.

2. You read everything in sight

Books are preferable, but in a pinch you'll read newspapers, magazines, cereal boxes, and milk containers. If it has words, you'll read it.

3. You love going to the bookstore/library

All the shiny books calling your name. How can you resist? But if you're on a tight budget, the library is probably the safest choice. You've probably also walked out with an impossibly big armload of library books at some point too.

4. You've got more books on your list than you could possibly read

Your TBR (real or digital) stretches to Pluto and back. And every time you par down, you just add three hundred more books on it. That's why it's fine to stop books. We only have time for the best, don't you know.

5. You're well versed in classics

You probably grew up on books like Anne of Green Gables or Sign of the Beaver. Some of your favorite books to this day are probably good old classics and you debate which version of Pride and Prejudice is best (BBC, obviously).

6. You think the book was better (sometimes)

If they make your favorite book into a movie, you'll watch and harshly judge it, probably coming the conclusion, the book was better. However, I have read books worse than the movie and sometimes, they can't be compared. You may also discover a movie was based on a book and read the book immediately.

7. You've stayed up late to finish a book

Yeah, you had to get up early the next morning, but the book only had a few hundred chapters left. You didn't need those few hours of sleep anyway.

8. You consider book characters your friends

You think of them like people you actually know, wish you could visit them, and ship them with other characters. Besides, fictional people are so much easier to deal with.

9. You want to go live in a fictional world

Narnia, Hogwarts, Camp Halfblood, Middle Earth. It doesn't matter, you just want a world with some magic. If only you could find the right wardrobe.

10. Your life is covered in books

Your bookcase is overflowing. You have a large stack of library books. There are a couple by your bed, a few on your desk, another one on the table. Heck, maybe you even decided to make your furniture out of books. They're just everywhere.

If any of these are you, then you are an official bookworm. Remember, being a bookworm isn't about reading a hundred books a year. It's about loving books and taking the time to read and share them with others.

Let's talk! Which of these apply to you? What are some other signs of bookwormhood? Tell me in the comments.

  4. Oh wow, I'm definitely a bookworm then. XD I related to pretty much all of these?! (Except number 5, I've never been too keen on classics lol.) But all the other points are definitely me! :)
